Why Custom Categories?
VaultSio ships with a comprehensive set of built-in categories (Food, Transport, Health, etc.), but your spending may not fit neatly into them. Custom categories let you track exactly what matters to you — "Pet Care", "Hobbies", "Crypto", or anything else.
Creating a Custom Category

Go to Settings → Categories
Open the app, tap Settings, then tap Categories.

Tap Add Category
Tap the + button to open the Add Category form.

Name, icon, and colour
Enter a category name, pick an emoji icon from the selector, and choose a colour. These will appear throughout the app.

Choose type: Expense or Income
Set whether this is an expense or income category. This helps filter it correctly in reports.

Save
Tap Save. Your new category is immediately available when adding transactions.
💡 Tip: Keep category names short and specific. Too many categories can make reports harder to read.
